Jacqueline Dalais grew up on the island of Touessrok where her parents ran an inn. She discovered a passion for cooking at a very young age. For her 15th birthday, rather than wishing for a signet ring like all the girls her age, she asked her parents for an electric hand whisk. Since then, she has never left the kitchen and has fully devoted herself to her passion for cooking.
Nowadays, thanks to her perseverance and creativity, Jacqueline is widely recognised as a grande dame of the Mauritian cuisine and has earned numerous awards and honours both locally and internationally.
