Born July 14th, 1980 in Moka (Mauritius), Gabrielle Wiehe is an illustrator and graphic designer. In 1998 she goes to Paris to study graphic arts, and in 2003 she publishes an album at Mango Jeunesse, in which she illustrates Puss in Boots and The Fairies, two tales by Charles Perrault. Missing the animals of her native island, she creates an imaginary bestiary entitled Bestioles which appears at the Atelier du Poisson Soluble in 2005. Afterwards a two-year stay in India will inspire the book Voyage de Paul Balmer en Inde published in 2007 by Mango Jeunesse. In 2009 she publishes Sirandann, her first book with the Mauritian Editions Vizavi and Qui et quoi with the Réunnionais publisher Océan Jeunesse. These two albums won her the Prix de La Réunion des livres and the following year she published a new album entitled Inséparables by Océan Jeunesse.
