KOO SIN LIN Eric
Born in 1960 in Port-Louis (Mauritius), Eric Koo Sin Lin is an illustrator and cartoonist. In 1987, he obtains his National Postgraduate Degree in Fine Arts with honours in Lyon (France). Once back to Mauritius in 1993, he works as an illustrator for a youth newspaper and later he becomes a political cartoonist for L’Express newspaper, before being appointed artistic director of the weekly supplement Expresso. In 1997, he publishes his first book with Editions Vizavi, by the title Port-Louis, Ile Maurice, in which he presents a series of drawings in Indian ink about his hometown. He then publishes two humorous cartoons: Vive la patrie! and Nous les Mauriciens! and illustrates the book by Jean-Claude de L’Estrac L’histoire racontée à mon petit-fils, before settling permanently in Australia in 2000.
